Director Position
E-Tahkanawasot Care Centre is looking to fill the position of Centre Director. Established in 1992, the centre has been providing high quality childcare to high school students attending Oskayak High School. The Centre functions with a dynamic child-centered approach that emphasizes first nation culture,
emotional well-being, natural curiosity, positive self-concept, independence and self-confidence.

Overview of Position
E-Tahkanawasot Care Centre is looking for a dynamic leader to take the role of Centre Director. She will foster a positive environment for children and staff. In addition she will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, management and administration of the Centre and must ensure compliance with relevant regulations. The Director is answerable to a Board of Directors.

Particular responsibilities of the position include:
 Supporting the Board of Directors
 Bookkeeping and financial management and oversight of the Centre
 Human resources management
 Program planning, implementation and delivery
 Public relations and
 Helping to ensure compliance with provincial standards for childcare centres.

All candidates must have post-secondary training and experience in the childcare field including, at a minimum, level III ECE certification and preferably five (5) years of childcare experience. The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead staff. She will help create and maintain a positive and collegial
work environment. Training and experience in bookkeeping and other administrative functions are required. Personal and professional growth on the job are encouraged.
The E-Tahkanawasot Care Centre operates within the Oskayak High School calendar (September to June).

Full Time Executive Director Position

Pangman Daycare Inc is currently looking for a full time Executive Director. We are a governemnt licensed, 25 space, non-profit child care centre located in Pangman, SK (www.pangman.ca). The Director will be responsible to the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the day to day operation of the centre
  • Supervise the childcare workers
  • Hire and train new staff members
  • Establish policies and communicate them to staff and parents
  • Develop educational programs
  • Assist with and work within the operating budget
  • Work with the administrator to maintain accurate record keeping and ensure the completion of accurate ontly financial statements
  • Ensure effective communication with families
  • Act as a liaison between the board and staff or parents to ensure all concerns or complaints are addressed

Personal suitability criteria inlude:

  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Office management and organization skills

Educational specific criteria include:

  • ECE Level 3 or equivalent – combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Valid First Aid/CPR
  • Food Safety Handling Course
  • Criminal Record Check

Wages will be dependend on experience and education.
