EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Anticipated start date: August 15, 2018

Watrous Childcare Inc. is seeking an experienced individual with proven leadership and management skills in early childhood education to lead the new 20-seat childcare centre in Watrous scheduled to open this fall.  Reporting to the Watrous Childcare Board of Directors, the Executive Director will implement the strategic vision and offer a high quality of service to both children and their families.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, execute and evaluate daily programming using an approved curriculum and approach
  • Facilitate planned and spontaneous experiences for the children
  • Manage facility staff and cook
  • Prepare, review, and analyze facility budgets in collaboration with Board of Directors
  • In collaboration with other staff, observe children’s strengths, challenges, developing skills and interests. Use this observation to plan, implement, and revise programming as needed.
  • Communicate sensitively and appropriately with parents/families with information regarding their children’s learning, development, skills, and interests.
  • Develop and administer goals, objectives, policies and methods for evaluating children
  • Prepare and present monthly financial and operational reports to the Board
  • Attend monthly Board Meetings as required by the Board
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, parents, regulators, and the Board of Directors

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Early Childhood Education Level III or equivalent and previous work experience in a childcare facility.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Saskatchewan non-profit administrative methods and procedures
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must be highly organized, multi-task orientated, and able handle stressful situations
  • Ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of Watrous Childcare Inc.
  • Previous work and reporting to a Board of Directors considered an asset
  • Must be able to pass a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification

 

 

 

Salary is negotiable but will reflect overall qualification and be competitive within the Saskatchewan childcare industry.

USSU CHILDCARE CENTRE

Early Childhood Educator Positions – one Temporary and one Full Time  
(Temporary – Potential to become Full Time Position)

The USSU Childcare Centre provides care for children aged 6 months to 6 years of age, and has been in operation on the University of Saskatchewan campus since 1992.  We have 156 children in total at our two locations, the Williams Location and our McEown Location. 

We are hiring one temporary and one full time, ECE position for our McEown location.  Both positions will involve moving from room to room working with all age groups throughout the day.  The Early Childhood Educator’s primary duty is to provide quality care in all areas of development in order to maintain the well-being of each child in the Centre.  

Responsibilities Include (but not limited to)
Complete supervision of all child 
Program planning, organizing and implementing 
Maintain a current certification in First Aid and CPR
Maintain an open, communicative relationship with the staff in all rooms and with the parents at all times

Training & Qualifications:
ECE III or ECE II
Bachelor of Education with ECE III equivalency
Valid First Aid/CPR
A Canadian Police Reference Check in the past 6 months
Canadian Language Benchmark Level 7+

Starting Wage:
ECE III $19.08 per hour
ECE II $17.17 per hour
Matching Pension plan after 3 months probation is completed.  Monthly EDO day.

Full Time Executive Director Position

Pangman Daycare Inc is currently looking for a full time Executive Director. We are a governemnt licensed, 25 space, non-profit child care centre located in Pangman, SK (www.pangman.ca). The Director will be responsible to the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the day to day operation of the centre
  • Supervise the childcare workers
  • Hire and train new staff members
  • Establish policies and communicate them to staff and parents
  • Develop educational programs
  • Assist with and work within the operating budget
  • Work with the administrator to maintain accurate record keeping and ensure the completion of accurate ontly financial statements
  • Ensure effective communication with families
  • Act as a liaison between the board and staff or parents to ensure all concerns or complaints are addressed

Personal suitability criteria inlude:

  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Office management and organization skills

Educational specific criteria include:

  • ECE Level 3 or equivalent – combination of education and experience may be considered
